Drew started repairing and building guitars in his spare time around 1980. In 1994 he went professional and came to The Blue Guitar in 1998.

"The shop always had a reputation for excellence, so it was a real thrill to be asked to work here".

Drew is a folk musician and his strongest interests are in steel-string guitars, mandolins, and banjos. Being a longtime Martin fan, he is factory authorized for The Martin Company.

"Don't get the idea I don't do work on other instruments. I played a lot of rock 'n' roll in the 60's and I enjoy electrics too. I also have plans to build a classical guitar."

He also designed and manufactures a bridge saddle routing jig for Luthiers Mercantile International (LMI). He's restored a number of old Martins and Gibsons, guitars and mandolins. He's currently restoring a 1935 Gibson L5 which was badly damaged.

"I build a few guitars and mandolins each year, so contact me if you're interested. They don't hang around long, so it's best to ask before they are completed."
